Medication errors are the third leading cause of patient harm in the UK, contributing to thousands of preventable deaths each year. This fully accredited CPD course equips healthcare professionals with essential knowledge and practical skills to safely and confidently manage medications across various care settings.
Participants will gain a clear understanding of the legal frameworks, classification of drugs, administration procedures, and the critical “6 Rights” of medication administration. The course includes practical training in using the British National Formulary (BNF), identifying and preventing medication errors, understanding drug interactions, and safely handling controlled substances.
This training is highly interactive and focuses on real-world application, including conducting drug rounds, audits, and effectively educating patients about their medication to support informed consent.
The course is in two parts. Once registered, you will be sent our pre-course workbook, which you will complete before the face to face training day at our Skegness Centre.
